Teresa of Calcutta Mission

we are the hands and feet of christ.

About the mission

We respond to the needs of our brothers and sisters.

In the spirit of the Gospel and through the example of St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta, Little Flower Catholic Church opens her arms to those in need in the wider Myrtle Grove community.

How it works

Opening at 9:00AM on Wednesday and Friday, the Mission offers clothing and prepackaged food. Those receiving assistance in the form of food can return every 30 days.

Who it Is For

The Mission serves all those in Escambia county in need of assistance in the form of food or clothing. Some clients need assistance on a regular basis while others just need help getting back on their feet.

The History

From humble origins to serving 250-300 families a month.

Our initial response to the needs of our local brothers and sisters was serving donated clothing from the trunk of a car on parish grounds. In the 90's, the arrival of Msgr. Crawford was the impetus for a structure to be built and formal process to help the needy. Now we are able to offer not only clothing and household goods, but food as well.

In the past, we have been able to help children who come to us for help (while their single parent is out looking for work), young pregnant women kicked out of their homes by their parents, and veterans who have hit a hard time (and just need to get back on their feet).

From these humble origins, we now serve about 250-300 families each month.
